1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using DnD Metrics ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
DnD Metrics provides a web-based D&D 5e Encounter Calculator that helps Dungeon Masters and players calculate encounter difficulty using the modern Challenge Ratings 2.0 system. The Service includes features such as monster selection, party configuration, and encounter balancing calculations.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you may be required to register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your password and account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account
3.2 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms of Service or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
4. Usage Limits and Fair Use
To ensure fair access to the Service for all users, we implement usage limits:
- Anonymous users: 10 encounter calculations per day
- Registered users: 5 encounter calculations per day
- Admin users: Unlimited calculations
These limits are subject to change. We reserve the right to modify usage limits at any time without prior notice.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
- Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state your affiliation
- Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code
- Collect or harvest any personally identifiable information from other users
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
6. Intellectual Property Rights
6.1 Our Content
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by DnD Metrics and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
6.2 D&D Content
Dungeons & Dragons and D&D are registered trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC. This service is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored, or specifically approved by Wizards of the Coast LLC. Monster statistics and game mechanics are used under the Open Gaming License (OGL) or System Reference Document (SRD).
6.3 User Content
You retain ownership of any content you create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
- That the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- That the results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable
- That any errors in the Service will be corrected
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL DND METRICS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
- Any content obtained from the Service
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DnD Metrics and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which DnD Metrics operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall be enforced to the fullest extent under law.
14. Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. A waiver of any term or condition shall not be deemed a waiver of any other term or condition.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DnD Metrics regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
